Caroline was struggling with the cost of living. She had recently experienced a relationship breakdown and as a result the household income was much less. Caroline has 3 children to support with no financial help from her ex-partner. We provided a series of face to face and telephone appointments aimed at helping her with her energy and water bills but also with wider cost of living help such as a referral to Stripy Storks for some additional clothes for the children and referrals to a local employment and training project. We helped the client access a more appropriate tariff and provided advice on how to reduce the energy bills through small behaviours that the whole family can engage with. We registered the client to the Priority Service Register and helped them apply for the water and broadband social tariff.
